HERE'S A SHOT OF THE REEF RIGHT OUT IN FRONT OF WATERS EDGE!
As you can see from the photo above, the snorkeling here is fantastic... Sea fans, corals, stingrays, turtles, huge lobster, colorful fish all abound, and can be found within yards of the beach in front of Waters Edge! Eleuthera has some of the finest snorkeling anywhere. From right in front of the house to almost any other beach destination you check out during your stay, the possibilities are truly endless.
On the Atlantic side, gentle wave and current action gives rise to an enormously diverse marine population, from lobsters to giant parrotfish, from sea fans to giant elkhorn coral, and from dolphins and turtles to the occasional stingray, you'll have a chance to see it all! On the Caribbean side, the water tends to be glassy calm more of the time, with great visibility (see above) and a slightly different (but equally amazing) variety of marine creatures to please your eye.

Diving is great all over the island. Boat diving operations are available out of Cotton Bay (south), Current (northwest), and Harbour Island (northeast). We highly recommend calling ahead to book and planning alternate days in case rough seas cancel your original planned dive day.
Clearwater Dive Shop: A good local source for SCUBA, snorkeling, and even fishing supplies. Stop in here to ask about planning dives on Eleuthera. As far as we are aware, they do not offer dives out of the shop, but they can tell you where to go! Located near the Shell station in Governor's Harbour.
Ocean Fox Cotton Bay: A well-reputed shop operating out of Cotton Bay, about 1.5 hours south. Boat and shore dives available, as well as snokel trips and even PADI certifications! Highly recommended.
Valentine's Dive Center: Located on Harbour Island, this is another great operation that caters to divers wishing to check out the north end of the island. Cool spots like Devil's Backbone Reef (tons of shipwrecks) and the Current Cut Dive (high-speed drifting!) make this another great bet for interested divers and snorkelers.
